Boards and Committees

Board of Directors

The affairs of the Branch are managed by a Board of Directors, consisting of 15 members in good standing with the Branch. No employee of the Branch or the Association shall be eligible to be a director. The membership of the Board of Directors and its

Committees should reflect;

• the geographical regions of the Branch’s territory
• the language and cultural nature of the Branch’s territory,
• the gender mix of the population,

and shall strive to obtain;

• not more than one third Mental Health Professionals
• consumer and family representation
• reflect a broad spectrum of non-medical occupations
• not less than four French-speaking persons
• not less than 3 members from the region of Prescott-Russell

Executive Committee

• composed of not less than five directors elected by the Board
• including the President, the Vice-Presidents and the Treasurer.
• The President shall be the Chair of the Executive Committee
• during the intervals between the meetings of the Board, the Executive Committee may exercise all of the powers of the directors regarding the affairs of the Branch.

Standing Committees

The Chair of each committee shall be appointed by the Board of Directors.

Finance Committee

• chaired by the Treasurer of the Branch
• reviews financial statements
• advises the Board on the financial aspects of the Branch’s operation

Mental Health Promotion and Volunteer Committee

• responsible for volunteer recruitment and recognition
• strikes sub-committees for fund raising events and projects
• organizes the Annual General Meeting

Program Committee

• reviews program outcomes and statistics
• consults with community partners regarding Branch services
• develops annual Operating Plans

French Language Services Committee

• consisting of all the French speaking members of the board
• responsible for monitoring the provision of services in the French language
• reviews and revises the French Language Services Plan

Ad Hoc Committees

• struck at any time by the Board of Directors
• responsible for specific issues and/or projects
