FOCUS ON FITNESS PROGRAM

GOALS:

To offer the opportunity to benefit from an affordable fitness program which promotes health, reduces social isolation and provides an opportunity to make new acquaintances. Learn skills to ensure good physical and mental health. Free with the exception of special activities.

PARTICIPANTS:

Adults 16 years and older who are living with a severe mental illness/concurrent disorder and/or are socially isolated.

PARTNERS:


Program in collaboration with Eastern Ontario Health Unit and sponsored in part by Healthy Rhythm Coalition.

WALKING CLUB

DESCRIPTION

SPRING/SUMMER/FALL:

Outdoor circuits for beginners and regular groups. Program includes warm-up session, walking routes, stretching and snack. Every participation gives a chance to win the monthly draw.

WINTER:

• gym at reduced price ($)
• aqua fitness for beginners ($)
• interior walking (free)
• Indoor activities (free)

HEALTHY LIVING GROUP

The Healthy Living Group provides presentations on topics related to physical and mental health. A certificate of attendance will be awarded at the completion of the 8 sessions program.

• Eight (8) presentation per session
• Held every two (2) weeks
