Fundraising

CMHA's Mental Health Promotion Program, unlike other programs, is not funded by the Ministry Health and Long Term Care therefore we rely on United Way Funding (SDG / Prescott-Russell),  Subway Franchise (Pascal, Jacques and Chirstian Brunet, owners), community donations, fund raising events, and revenues from workshops to sustain this program.

Types of Fund Raising:

If you would like to get involved and help us raise much needed funds for our public education program please give us a call at: 1-613-933-5845 or 1-800-493-8271.

As a means to financially support the Talking About Mental Illness Education Program (TAMI) offered by the CMHA / Champlain East, a School Challenge for Mental Health fundraiser was launched in September 2010.

All Secondary High Schools in the S.D. & G. and Prescott & Russell who received this program were invited to organize an event with their students and teachers that would promote mental health while raising dollars for mental health promotion.

A ballot was issued for every $100 raised which qualified the participating school to win a Dance Party to be hosted by 94.7 Hits FM & Manta Studio.

This year’s participating schools were:

• Russell High School
• L’école secondaire catholique de Casselman
• St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School (Cornwall)

Their combined efforts raised over $2,200 to support the Mental Health Promotion initiatives of the CMHA / Champlain East Branch.

A draw took place during Mental Health Week (May 1 – 7, 2011) and we are pleased to announce that this year’s 2011 Dance Party winner is St. Joseph’s Secondary School!

A sincere THANK YOU is sent to all participating schools for their support and great initiative!
